Nexus + Answer Kaldnes Bio Media Filter
The Nexus Eazy is Evolution Aqua's exciting new vortex filter system incorporating the industry proven Kaldnes moving bed tm coupled with the innovative Eazy mechanical filter. The Nexus biofilter has been engineered for use in koi pond applications where the levels of koi solid & liquid waste are high. The Nexus 200 and Nexus 300 models have been designed to be either pump fed or gravity fed systems. They are compact, robust, have a rotor molded thick wall construction and have been designed to last. The Nexus is complete with discharge valves, located together for easy access and all the necessary connections. As water flows into the Nexus pond filter it circulates, causing the waste from the bottom of the koi pond to settle at the bottom of the vortex chamber. At the side of the chamber is a drain that allows waste to be easily removed. The Nexus filter can be fitted with the Answer screen filter and offers economical running costs, has been built to last, offers unrivalled price performance. Suitable for all sizes of pond and is supplied with the Kaldnes filter media bed. There are 2 models to choose from: Nexus Easy 200 for koi ponds up to 18000 litres and the Nexus Easy 300 for koi ponds up to 34000 litres.

offers unequalled biological filtration
Kaldnes K1 has a high Specific Surface Area per volume of 800 m2 / m3 and it has been designed to be slightly buoyant in water. This makes it extremely easy to agitate with large amounts of air and large quantities can be agitated by air bubbles. Agitation of the biomedia is critical to the beneficial bacteria (Nitrosomonas/Nitrobacter) living on the surface of the Kaldnes K1. This non porous media doesn't have the problems associated with other ceramic filter media such as clogging of fine pores. This is a thing of the past with this ceramic filter media. Unlike many bio media manufacturers, who are reluctant to quote specifics in terms of their bio media's performance because these specifics can't be guaranteed given different pond conditions, Kaldness K1 biomedia will consistently produce the same results within different pond environments.

An air dome bottom drain, that causes air to rise up from the bottom drain helps larger floating waste particles to find their way to your Nexus vortex filter. You may find that small waste particles are carried away from the Nexus by the current, created by the air dome bottom drain. The use of air dome bottom drains and vortex filters can combine to be effective pond cleaners ... but not as effective as combining the Nexus biofilter with the "Answer" screen filter.

The Nexus 200 and Nexus 300 koi pond biofilters have been designed in such a way that when combined with the "answer" mechanical screen filter they remove a substantial amount of waste from the bottom of your koi pond, whilst at the same time reducing the amount of heterotrophic bacteria (living on the waste) that can mix with the Kaldness K1 Pond Filter Media. This Evolution Aqua Eazy Pod Koi Filter is the filter system that Koi keepers are talking about. A smaller version of the Nexus Eazy, the Eazy Pod filter is very easy to install and operate. It uses the proven Eazy 200 mechanical filter and Kaldnes K1 media resulting in incredibly crystal clear water. It offers quick and easy cleaning - with no wet or dirty hands. This compact filter is only 23" x 23" (59cm x 59cm). Can be installed either pump or gravity fed. Comes complete with adjustable rubber connectors for all pipe work up to 3". Includes a whopping 35 litres of Kaldnes K1 media. For koi ponds up to 10,000 litres. Flow rated at 10000 l/ph. Please note: the Eazy Pod needs to be connected to a suitable air pump.
