No matter how small your pond installation, it is always advantageous from a maintenance and fish health point of view to install a pond bottom drain, particularly for larger koi ponds. Installed at the bottom of the pond, this device encourages debris and waste to flow into a circular collection chamber, where it is carried away underground, via standard 2" or 3" PVC pipe (not included) to a disposal area. This portable bottom drain is designed for use in most water gardens and fish ponds. Excavation of the pond bottom or draining the pond water is not necessary for installation. When correctly installed, the drain sits level on the pond bottom.
